Where the numbers come from.

Category memberships, ratings, and review counts are pulled from the live Shopify App Store listing — refreshed daily by Ongoing.AI’s crawler. An app that belongs to three categories counts once in each. App-membership totals therefore exceed the number of unique apps; the per-category numbers are the honest ones for sizing a niche. Average rating is review-count weighted. “New” counts apps whose first-seen date lands in the last 28 days. Snapshot generated .
