OngoingAI

Free tool

Free Shopify App Detector

Paste any Shopify store URL to run a live scan of the apps, theme, and ecommerce tech it's running — reviews, subscriptions, email & SMS, loyalty, upsell, analytics, and more. No extension. Works on mobile.

What the detector finds

Every scan reads the storefront's public markup and matches it against OngoingAI's technology graph. These are the most common lanes it surfaces.

Subscriptions

Recurring billing, subscribe & save, cart-swap UI.

e.g. Recharge, Skio, Loop

Reviews & UGC

Product reviews, star ratings, photo galleries.

e.g. Judge.me, Yotpo, Loox

Email & SMS

Signup forms, popups, and marketing pixels.

e.g. Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript

Loyalty & rewards

Points balances, referral and rewards programs.

e.g. Smile.io, LoyaltyLion

Upsell & bundles

Post-purchase upsells, bundles, cart drawers.

e.g. Rebuy, Bold, Fast Bundle

Support & chat

Chat widgets, help-desk launchers, popovers.

e.g. Gorgias, Zendesk, Tidio

Analytics & pixels

Analytics, tag managers, attribution, consent.

e.g. GA4, GTM, Klaviyo

Theme & storefront

Shopify theme identity, page builders, and headless/custom builds.

e.g. Dawn, PageFly, Hydrogen

How it works

Step 1

Scan the storefront

OngoingAI analyzes the store's public storefront for ecommerce technology signals.

Step 2

Identify apps & technologies

We surface signals associated with apps, themes, analytics, marketing tools, payments, support, infrastructure, and more.

Step 3

Match against the OngoingAI graph

Observed signals are matched against our proprietary fingerprint library and ecommerce technology graph — each result linked to its page in the index.

What it can see

  • Apps that publish storefront markup, scripts, or app blocks
  • The Shopify theme identity — or a headless/custom storefront
  • Analytics, pixels, tag managers, consent tools, and page builders
  • Whether the store is running Shopify at all

What it can't see

  • Backend-only apps and server-side integrations
  • Checkout-only apps (Shopify serves checkout markup)
  • Admin-only apps and private/custom implementations
  • Apps installed but not loading public signals on the homepage

A missing detection means we didn't observe a public signal — not that an app isn't installed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Shopify App Detector free?
Yes. It's a free tool — no login, nothing to install. Enter any Shopify store URL and it runs a live scan of the storefront and returns the apps, theme, and ecommerce technologies it can see from public signals.
Do I need a Chrome extension?
No. The detector runs online and scans the store from our servers, so there's nothing to install or keep updated. It works in any browser on any device, including mobile.
How does it work?
When you enter a store, OngoingAI analyzes its public storefront for ecommerce technology signals, then matches those observations against our proprietary fingerprint library and technology graph to identify the apps, theme, and tech in use. Results are drawn from public storefront observations — no private or account data.
Which apps and technologies can it detect?
Apps and tech that leave public storefront signals: review apps, subscription apps, email and SMS marketing, loyalty and rewards, upsell and bundle tools, support widgets, search and personalization, analytics, consent management, page builders, payment providers, CDNs, and tag managers. It also reads the Shopify theme identity and flags headless/custom storefronts.
Why don't some apps show up?
Backend-only apps, checkout-only apps, private and custom apps, and admin-only integrations often don't leave public storefront signals. A missing detection doesn't mean an app isn't installed — it means we didn't observe a public signal for it on the homepage.
Does it work on non-Shopify stores?
This tool is built for Shopify storefronts. If a store isn't running Shopify, the scan will tell you it couldn't find Shopify signals rather than guessing at another platform's stack.
