Write and publish your first article
Draft, format and publish a help article in a few minutes.
Help articles answer your common questions once, for everyone. They appear in your help center and in the messenger's Help tab, where visitors can search them before they ask.
Create an article
- Go to Help center in the sidebar and choose New article.
- Give it a title written the way customers ask. "How do I export my data?" works better than "Data export".
- Add a one-line summary. It shows under the title in lists and search results.
Write it
Use the toolbar for headings, bold and italic, links, lists, quotes and code, and to add images. Keep it short and easy to scan: a sentence or two at the top that answers the question, then the steps.
Your changes save as you type. You'll see All changes saved at the top.
Publish
Choose Publish when it's ready. Until then it's a draft only your team can see. After that, edits wait as unpublished changes until you choose Publish changes, so customers never see an article half-edited. Unpublish takes it down.
Put it in a collection
Pick a collection in the editor so customers can browse to the article. See Organize articles into collections.
Its address
Each article's address comes from its title, and you can edit it. Choose View to see the article live.
